Our calling is always to build and restore says Bishop

Gepp Lecturer 2014, Bishop Graeme Knowles, with James Bettley, Chairman - Friends of Essex Churches Trust

Former chairman of the Council for the Care of Churches, Bishop Graeme Knowles, has said the Church’s calling is to build and restore.

With worship being a community based activity, the Church is forever building and restoring not only places of stone and mortar but also the communities which are housed within those places, said Bishop Graeme.

The Bishop was delivering the Friends of Essex Churches Trust’s second Gepp Lecture on 15 May 2014 at St Andrew’s church in Hatfield Peverel.
